ASBMF #9 Fresh Cut Lawns

Today I did an attempt on one of my April Shower's Bring May Flowers Challenges, Fresh Cut Lawns.  This looked good in my head.  Not so good after I was done.  In my defense, my kids woke up with so much energy this morning, they just couldn't be contained.  I also used a polish I had never used before.  The Nabi Magnetics.  My thought was that I would be trying out some thing new and getting in a challenge mani.  The formula on the Nabi is really good.  You just have to make sure that you get a nice even coat.  Not too thick, not too thin.  Also, it's best to get your nail as close to the magnet as possible.  It makes great lines the closer you get.  I held my magnet to each nail for 30 seconds.  I wish I had taken a pic of my thumb.  The lines are so cool and defined!  I wanted to add a pretty butterfly, cause that is what I think of when I think of bright green lush lawns.  Remember when I said my kids were a little crazy this morning?  It messed up my stamping mojo.  I didn't get my butterfly center and at that moment I didn't care and surely didn't want to re-do it.  So I decided to wing it and try to add a partial butterfly to fill in the empty space.  Here what I ended up with.  Be honest, what do you think?

Teal Tuesday: Abstract

This weeks challenge is Abstract.  After asking a few questions, most techniques such as sponging, splatter, tape and gradients fall in the abstract category.  Honestly I wasn't in the mood to go through all that.  I just wanted something simple.  Then I remembered there was an image from my plates that I hadn't used yet.  Actually, there were 2 that I felt were abstract.  Time for a stamping mani!!  Here is what it looks like

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris
Stamping Color:  Kleancolor Metallic Aqua
Stamping Plate:  Bundle Monster BM 203
Stamping Plate (ring finger):  Red Angel RA 108

I love how this turned out, will definitely be using these designs again.

Happy Tuesday!!!

Adventures In Stamping: Circles (FAIL)

I recently joined a group on Facebook called Adventures in Stamping. It's a great group and I love all the gals in there. I am having so much fun! We do a new challenge every week, and this week, it was circles. Seems easy right? Just pick an image plate that has a circular design and stamp! Well, I have a few plates with circular images on them. But, I haven't done a half moon mani before. So I went with my Red Angel 110 plate. I was excited to try something new. I had already painted my nails (for another group challenge) and picked my stamping colors. SH Insta Dri "Wined UP" and Orly "Dazzle" First off, I had a hard time stamping the image in the right spot. The more I went along, the more I didn't like it :( I chose "wined up" for my ring finger to give it a little pop. It pops! I actually love this color. First time stamping with it. However, when I was all done, I didn't like it one bit as a whole. I decided to still take pics and show my failure to coordinate colors and stamp an image on the center of my nail. See for yourself:
I will be removing my mani either tonight or tomorrow. I just wanted to show you my fail so that we can all either laugh at me or you can tell me I am doing ok and keep on going :) Either way, thanks for looking!!
