Teal Tuesday: Free Day

Happy Tuesday!!  Today's challenge was a free day.  YAY!!  I have been wanting to try this jelly sandwich for a while now and I finally have an excuse to do it.  I have been looking at my Sinful Colors Cinderella and Nail Junkie thinking this will make a great jelly sandwich.  Well, it makes a good one.  The glass flecks in Cinderella kind of take over.  But I wouldn't say this one is a fail.  I like the way it turned out.  Just not your typical jelly sandwich.  I did one coat of Cinderella, one coat of Nail Junkie, then one coat of Cinderella, two coats of Nail Junkie and topped with one coat of Cinderella.  Did you get all that?  What are your thoughts?

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Jelly Colors:  Sinful Colors Cinderella and Nail Junkie
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

Sooo having a mommy moment right....is this a jelly sandwich or a glitter sandwich?  Help a girl out  :)

Teal Tuesday: Stars

I have another Tealicure for you today.  This weeks theme is stars.  I was excited this one won, but then I realized, I had no clue what I was going to do.  There was no way I was going to freehand some stars and I wasn't in the mood to try out some stickers.  So of course, I went to my binder with all my plates and started looking. I was sure I had a ton of star images.  I don't :(  This is actually my 2nd attempt.  I liked my first attempt, which was french tips, but I have plans for the day and wanted to show off this polish.  I LOVE IT!  So I started over and did a full mani with a cute star stamp :)

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Base Color:  Zoya Charla

ASBMF #10 Butterflies

Can you believe that I got two challenges done so close together?  I cheated.....hahahaha....I did one challenge on one hand and then another on my other hand.  Trying to catch up makes for fun double mani's.  This challenge is butterflies.  I have a lot of butterfly stamps, but I wanted to try these free hand monarch butterflies I keep seeing.  I did this design completely free hand with a striper brush and a dotting tool.  I used this video tutorial.  She has some cute and fun stuff, if you haven't seen her channel, check her out.
When I was deciding what color butterflies I wanted, I just couldn't make a decision.  So I went with all the Metallics in the Kleancolor Metallic collection.  I was able to purchase the entire set on Amazon.  When I purchased the set, it was 8.88 plus 2.95 shipping.  Now looking at it, it sells for 4.24 plus 5.49 shipping.  It's a little cheaper now even with more shipping.  Might even be able to get the set from eBay for even less.  OK, back to the mani.  I painted my nails in this order starting with my thumb:  Metallic Aqua, Metallic Sapphire, Metallic Fuschia, Metallic Purple and Metallic Green.  I am really glad that I did it this way.  Now I know which colors work well with this kind of art.  My favorites are the Metallic Aqua and Metallic Green.  All the others are just too dark and it's hard to see the contrast in colors.
After I was finished with the design, I thought it needed a little POP....so of course that means some glitter.  I grabbed my silver glitter striper and added it to the top of the wing.  Next it was time for the white dots.  Super easy,  I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and a dotting tool.  Some thing weird happened when I put on my top coat.  All my white dots turned the same color as my base color.  Which I thought was really weird.  I had painted my base colors earlier in the morning and applied my top coat.  I didn't get to the design until the afternoon.  So I had to go over the white dots to make them really white.  I added another top coat and all seemed fine.  Until I saw that there were blue dots on my index finger :(  No clue why it happened, but I wasn't messing with it any more.  Here is the final product

Base Coat:  Sech REBUILD
Base Colors:  Kleancolor Metallics-Aqua, Sapphire, Fuschia, Purple & Green
Butterfly Wing Design: Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris
Glitter:  L.A. Colors Silver Glitter Striper
Spots:  Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Top Coat:  Sech Vite

I hope you will try out a butterfly mani

Happy Friday!!

Guest Post

Two posts in one day!?!?  Unheard of!  hahahaha......I had the privilege of doing a guest post for The Manicured Monkey.  It's kind of nerve racking doing a post for some one else.  But she told me she loved it and I believe her!

The reason today is a double is because I got the post day mixed up :(  I thought it was going live on the 25th, it actually went live on the 15th.  Totally my fault.  Mommy brain strikes again!  Ok, enough excuses go check me out HERE

Thanks Bunches <3

ASBMF #9 Fresh Cut Lawns

Today I did an attempt on one of my April Shower's Bring May Flowers Challenges, Fresh Cut Lawns.  This looked good in my head.  Not so good after I was done.  In my defense, my kids woke up with so much energy this morning, they just couldn't be contained.  I also used a polish I had never used before.  The Nabi Magnetics.  My thought was that I would be trying out some thing new and getting in a challenge mani.  The formula on the Nabi is really good.  You just have to make sure that you get a nice even coat.  Not too thick, not too thin.  Also, it's best to get your nail as close to the magnet as possible.  It makes great lines the closer you get.  I held my magnet to each nail for 30 seconds.  I wish I had taken a pic of my thumb.  The lines are so cool and defined!  I wanted to add a pretty butterfly, cause that is what I think of when I think of bright green lush lawns.  Remember when I said my kids were a little crazy this morning?  It messed up my stamping mojo.  I didn't get my butterfly center and at that moment I didn't care and surely didn't want to re-do it.  So I decided to wing it and try to add a partial butterfly to fill in the empty space.  Here what I ended up with.  Be honest, what do you think?

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Base Color:  Nabi Magnetics in Teal
Stamping Plate;  Red Angel RA 119
Stamping Polish:  Kleancolor Metallic Yellow

Teal Tuesday: Abstract

This weeks challenge is Abstract.  After asking a few questions, most techniques such as sponging, splatter, tape and gradients fall in the abstract category.  Honestly I wasn't in the mood to go through all that.  I just wanted something simple.  Then I remembered there was an image from my plates that I hadn't used yet.  Actually, there were 2 that I felt were abstract.  Time for a stamping mani!!  Here is what it looks like

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris
Stamping Color:  Kleancolor Metallic Aqua
Stamping Plate:  Bundle Monster BM 203
Stamping Plate (ring finger):  Red Angel RA 108
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

I love how this turned out, will definitely be using these designs again.

Happy Tuesday!!!

ASBMF #8 Matte Magic

It's time for another spring challenge mani.  Number 8 is Matte Magic.  I have to admit, I was a little worried about this one,  I didn't have a matte top coat and every time I hit the store, there weren't any Essie's Matte About You.  Luckily, when I ordered my set of Kleancolor Holos, it came with a matte top coat, YAY!!  What is the best type of matte mani?  In my opinion, a flakie one!  I have just one flakie, Essie Shine of the Times.  I love this flakie.  It looks so different over different colors.  I chose to use blue as my base color.  It's nice and sunny here, a bright blue seemed fitting.  Here is what it looked like

Base Color:  Sinful Colors Midnight Blue
Top Coat:  Kleancolors Madly Matte

Teal Tuesday: Marble

This weeks theme is Marble, any type.  I am such a procrastinator, I waited until last night to even attempt this one.  I knew I didn't have time to do a water marble so I thought I would do it with my dotting tool.  FAIL!  It didn't come out anything like I had hoped.  So I tried again, FAIL!  Hahaha, see a pattern here?  Then I decided I would do different patterns of black and white on my nails then use a turquoise glitter to marble in, FAIL!  So I decided to sponge on my glitters.  I ended up using Finger Paints Art you Wondering? and Romanticism Ruby.  You can see some of the white by mt cuticle :(  But I surely wasn't going another round with this mani.  This is what I ended up with

I am really bummed with how the polish looks around my cuticles, but what can I say?  If I had this to do over again, I would just use an all  black base.

ASBMF #7 Glitter Tips

I have really been lacking on my Spring Challenge Mani's :(  I got some nail mail on Thursday and had to try a few things out.  I got some Essence Polish from a friend in the Netherlands.  Having never used these, I was excited to give them a try.  Most were glitters so I decided to do my Glitter Tips challenge mani.  I went with the sponge technique, it didn't come out like I had hoped.  I wanted a glitter gradient, I don't think I succeeded.  But it's a really pretty color :)

Base Coat:  Seche REBUILD
Glitter Gradient:  Essence Choose Me
Shimmer Top Coat:  Essence Boys are back in town

Going Naked Update

If you have been following me for a little bit, you know I had to cut down my nails and start from scratch.  You can see the post on that HERE.
It's been a week and I did all that I said I was going to do.  After taking pictures and getting a real close look at my nails.  I am not happy.  First off, I tore the side of my nail on my left index finger.  I filed the side down so it isn't too noticeable.  I did the by running my fingers through my hair.  Seems a strand caught the side.  Does that make sense?  It sucks.  It also seems as though I still have some peeling.  Take a look

It looks like I have 2 layers of my nail growing.  I never noticed that until I was watermarking my photo.  I am going to stick with the regimen for a month.  If nothing changes, guess I will have to switch and try some thing else.  My nails are growing, which is great, I don't like the way the polish looks when they are super short.

In other news, my giveaway ends soon.  Be sure to enter HERE
