BadAss Polish: Copper Waters {Review}

Evening ladies!!  I had planned on doing this post this morning, but I go wrapped up in getting Birthday Club polishes put away and re-organizing some baking stuff to make room for more crochet stuff.  Yeah, lots of moving stuff around today.  I am not quite done, but I will prob get to it again after the kids go to bed.  So for now, here is my review for BadAssPolish Copper Waters.  This is a new addition to the core line.  It's a mix of blue holographic glitter with copper glitter in a clear base.  It's quite pretty.  Check out the bottle:

BadAss Polish Copper Waters

I swatched this baby over quite a few colors and it was hard to choose my base to show you.  In the end I went with black and gold.  I did just one coat of my base colors, Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris and Essie Good as Gold along with one coat of Copper Waters.  I topped with a coat of Seche Vite and I was good to go.

BadAss Polish Copper Waters

Isn't it pretty?  The formula was great and I definitely didn't have to do any fishing here.  You could do as many coats as you like, but I like to see the base color under this one.
Here are a few more pics for your viewing pleasure :)

St. Patrick' Day

This morning I am going to start off with some Google news.  Google has announced that it is retiring it's Reader on July 1st.  There is an easy solution to this.  Just head over to http://www.bloglovin.com/, sign up if you haven't already and then on the top of the page, there is a notice about Google and a link to transfer all your blogs over to Bloglovin.  How nice of them!  I did it this morning, took about a minute.  I am happy that is all taken care of.  No worries here about losing my blogs in the shuffle.  Hope you do the same :)

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner.  I did a quick and easy mani to celebrate.  Nothing too fancy, just cute and sparkly :)

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Essie Good as Gold (1 coat)

See?  Super simple and cute.  Which makes this post short and sweet.  Have a great weekend!

BadAss Polish: Brew Crew {Review}

Morning!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I know I did.  It was pretty busy but all in all, it was a good time.  Until I woke up Sunday morning and lost an hour :(  Some one please tell me why we still have to change our clocks every 6 months.
Less complaining and more polish!  Today I am sharing a lovely from BadAss Polish's new Baseball themed line, called "Take me out to the ball game"  Cute, right?  The first polish in the line was inspired by the Milwaukee Brewers called Brew Crew.  It's a clear base packed with blue, white and gold glitters.  Quite easy to apply, as have been all my BadAss polishes.  I am showing this glitter topper over a black and silver base, I LOVE IT!  It's so much fun and reminds me of space :)

BadAss Polish Brew Crew

Isn't it nice?!?!  I used 2 coats of Brew Crew to get this look.  You could easily do 3 or 4 to really pack it on there.  I have learned to have a little patience when using glitter toppers such as these.  I like to paint my base, let it dry for a minute or two and then do a coat of the glitter topper and let it dry for a couple of minutes.  Have you ever noticed that if it isn't dry enough, the second coat starts to pull the first coat and then  your pretty polish looks all a mess?  Yeah, me too.  So this time I waited about 3 minutes or so (about long enough to play a level or 2 of Candy Crush) between coats and not a mess of anything!  Patience really is a virtue when using glitter toppers.

BadAss Polish Brew Crew

I don't really follow baseball, but that doesn't mean that a baseball inspired polish can't live with me.
Baseball season is fast approaching, make sure to either grab this one or keep an eye out for your favorite team inspired polish.  BadAss Polish is good at capturing the team spirit in a bottle.

BadAss Polish Brew Crew

You can check out BadAss Polish on Facebook or head to their shop on Etsy to purchase Brew Crew and other great polishes.

Have a great rest of the week!!

BadAss Polish: Bling! {Review}

Good morning!  I have another review for you from BadAss Polish.  This is a core line polish named Bling!  And boy does it!  Bling! is a clear base packed with silver & gold medium hex glitters and tons of silver & gold micro glitters. Since this one isn't a themed polish, I went with a holiday feel on this one.  And I have to tell you, I put this on end of last week, and I am still wearing it today.  No chipping and minor tip wear.  I think credit for my long lasting manicure goes to Bling!
Here is my mani, then I will share what I used for underwear:

BadAss Polish Bling

I chose Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby and Essie Good as Gold for my base colors.  It's December, it's all about the holidays right now and I wanted to have a fun sparkly holiday mani.

BadAss Polish Bling

I used one coat of Bling! and it was perfect.

BadAss Polish Bling

When I paint my nails, I wrap my tips after each coat, starting with my base coat.  Helps my mani last much longer.  Usually after about 2 days there is tip wear, which is fine, but I think Bling! really helped seal in the coats.  Like I said, I have had this on for a few days, minor tip wear.  That means there is still some polish on the tips :)  Of course no chipping.

BadAss Polish Bling

I am quit happy with this polish and I don't have anything like it in my stash.  Lots of people have silver and holo glitter top coats.  Having this silver/gold glitter is a fun addition.

I hope you will check out BadAss Polish on Facebook and their SHOP

I have one more polish coming up for review.  It's a good one so stay tuned :)

Catrice Million Styles Special Effects Top Coat: Million Dollar Baby

I have a bad habit of buying things and then stashing them some where until I can figure out where I want to put them permanently.  This is the case with the Million Styles Special Effect Top Coat collection from Catrice.  A friend of mine from the Netherlands had the entire set for sale and I just could not pass it up.  It's a Limited Edition Set so I was excited to have the opportunity to get it.
The other day I was going through some stuff and found my collection in a fabric box in a plastic bag, along with some other stuff I had gotten from a blog sale.  It was like Christmas LOL  I promptly added everything to my stash list and as I was going through them, I tested a few of the top coats and LOVED Million Dollar Baby.  Which is weird, because I am not a huge fan of gold.  I took the time to do my nails that evening and I am LOVING this gold glitter top coat.  It consists of large and small hex glitters and covers pretty well in one coat.  I layered it over black, but this will look awesome over red, purple and blue.  Probably lots of other colors, but those stand out right now in my brain.  Here is what it looks like:

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (1 coat)
Glitter:  Catrice Million Dollar Baby (1 coat)
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I have to say, I was impressed with the shine after applying this top coat.  The only reason I added a coat of Seche Vite is so help it dry faster.  I had some laundry I needed to do and surely didn't want to ruin my mani.  One coat gave great coverage and was perfect for what I was looking for.  Another coat would have made this super blingy and awesome.  I may give it a try ;)
I also took this photo in the shade.  This looks so much better in doors or in the shade than in direct sun light.  Which makes it an awesome glitter to wear in the winter when you still want all that glittery fun on your nails.
If you have this polish, don't let it sit on a shelf or in a bin.  It's beautiful!!

Fall into Autumn: Football Nails

Happy Saturday!  Today I am sharing a challenge mani from Fall into Autumn.  This weeks theme is Football Nails.  I am not a sports fan, neither is my husband.  But, his family is from Pittsburgh, so by default, we are Steelers fans.  Now, I can't do crazy nail art so I decided to go with a color scheme.  Gold and Black for the Steelers.  Honestly, I waited until last minute to do this mani, so it isn't super exciting.  I used a gold base, a gold version of fairy dust (had to make it sparkly and girly) and then a black striper.  Super Simple!

Base:  Elmer's Glue (more info HERE)
Base Color:  Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure
Glitter:  China Glaze Golden Enchantment
Striper:  Sinful Colors Black
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

So, what do you think of my football nails?  Is it football-y?  LOL

Lazy Days of Summer: In the Garden

We all know that I have been a slacker lately.  But I have some good news, I have a new challenge mani for you :)  I went and got a mani/pedi recently and decided to amp up my otherwise crappy mani to a challenge mani.  Seriously, I am so mad at how bad my cuticles looked when I left the salon.  I thought it was just because she got too close to my cuticles when she was painting.  Not the case.  So I apologize for a not so great polish job.  But that isn't really the star of the show here any way.  I just got some of new Essie Mirror Metallics, which means more stamping polishes for me!!  I had been looking for a good gold and the Good as Gold in this collection is great!
The inspiration for my mani is my own yard.  I don't have a garden or fancy flowers.  I do have a lot of rose bushes that line the front of my house.  They are so pretty when in bloom.  So I decided a rose garden mani was it. Plus, my nails were already red, perfect!  I have no idea what the brand or name of the red polish is, it was an off brand in the salon.  It does remind me a lot of A England Perceval.  I have a post on that lovely HERE
Alrighty, so here it is :)

Base Coat:  Unknown
Base Color:  Unknown
Stamping Plate:  Bundle Monster BM 306
Stamping Polish: Essie Good as Gold

I took this photo in the shade so the sun wouldn't wash out the gold.  I wore this for a couple days, I really enjoyed this mani :)

St. Patty's Day Mani

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day.  Will you be celebrating with green beer?  A special dinner?  I am embarrassed to say that we do neither of these things.  And I am married to an Irish Man!!!  Obviously he doesn't mind much.  Although I know he would like a traditional corned beef hash one of these times.  This holiday just creeps up on me EVERY year!
So, in honor of St. Patty's Day, I did a themed mani last night.

No Flash

With Flash

I wasn't too excited about the green when I first put it on.  Thankfully, after the glitter top coat, I was in love.  I love how this turned out.

This was also my first time using my new Bundle Monster plates.  I know this isn't exactly a 4 leaf clover, but it looks like a bunch of clovers and I thought "hey, it's my St. Patty's Day Mani"  :)
