2nd Day Nails: Stamping (Snake Skin/Reptile)

Happy Hump Day!  I have some 2nd day nails I wanna share with you :)

Last weekend was my son's 4th birthday.  We took him to the Reptile Zoo, which he LOVED, and decided a mani to match would be fun.  I had done some Googling and saw THIS from Nail Polish Wars.  She does such great stuff.  I had A England Lady of the Lake and Color Club Worth the Risque in my stash, so I gave it a try.  Here are a couple pics in direct sunlight:

Lazy Days of Summer: Thirst Quencher

So, I am really behind on my Summer challenges.  But I am going to try real hard to catch up so I can do the Fall Challenge.  This is #9, Thirst Quencher.  I don't know about you, but I seriously love water.  I know a lot of people who hate to drink water and I just don't understand.  On a normal day, that is all I drink.  However, once in a while I love me some lemonade or other citrus-y drink.  So instead of trying to do a mani about water, which prob would have been just plain blue nails, I decided to go for the citrus mani.  This is a fun design and I was lucky enough to have a friend over who wanted to help.  So she did my gradient.  Lucky me!!  Here is the final design

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Gradient:  Color Club Sparkle and Soar, Daisy Does it and Fly With Me
Stamping Plate:  Bundle Monster BM308
Stamping Polish:  Konad Special White
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

This was a fun mani to do, especially because I got to spend the day with my friend and do my nails :)

Teal Tuesday: Glitter Bomb

Happy Tuesday!  This weeks theme is Glitter Bomb over in Teal Tuesday.  I love me some glitter, but I have never successfully done a glitter bomb.  I am just not skilled enough to layer glitters and have it look nice.  So I went a different route.  I picked out my most sparkly teal glitter and put it over a teal base.  I don't know if this is considered a glitter bomb, but it sure is sparkly!!

 Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Color Club Metamorphosis
Glitter:  Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

This is so much more sparkly in person.  But you have heard that before, right?  I wish the camera could capture all the tiny holo glitters.
I have been looking at my nails all day!!

Lazy Days of Summer: Summer Ombre

I have another LDoS challenge mani for you.  Ombre's are so much fun.  They are a little work if you are like me and don't have a large stash of polishes with different shades of the same color.  I used just one polish for this mani.  You can see my other Ombre HERE which has a link to the tutorial I used.  However, I had to go a different route with this color.  Turns out you can't add black to an orange neon.  Ask me how I know!  So, I started on my thumb with the color at full strength and then added white as I went to each nail.  I like how it turned out.  The color is a little out of my comfort zone but when it isn't so "in your face" it's a nice touch of summer.  What do you think?

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Color Club Lava Lamp
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

I have such a hard time photographing my right hand.  I can never get my fingers to line up how I want.  This is the best I could do, sorry.  I will keep practicing and hopefully it won't look so awkward.

Thanks for stopping in to see my nails!!

It has been so hot and sunny here I thought I would share a Holo with you.  This is Color Club's Revvvolution. Such a pretty grey, but then you get out in the sun light and BAM!  Holo-y goodness.  So fun to have this one when you are out running some errands on a sunny day.  You never stop looking at your fingers :)

Stamping Test

I have used quit a few polishes lately that were one coaters.  Naturally, I wanted to see if they would be good stamping polishes.  Since I am Going Naked this week, I thought it was a good time to do a test before I change my REBUILD.  Here are the ones I tried
Zoya Noel, Confetti Rock the Night Away, SC Midnight Blue, CC Revvvolution, CG Agro

I decided to do the same as my last Stamping Test and used the Zebra image on the Konad M57 plate.  I was very hopeful for these polishes, but was quit disappointed.  The test images are in the same order as the polish pic above, starting with the pinky.  Looking at both pictures, I guess I did this backwards, OOPS!

Thumb:  CG Agro_This one worked ok.  It looks pretty crisp, but there are some bald spots.  Could be operator error
Index Finger:  CC Revvvolution_ I am sure that I have seen this one stamped before.  I kind of feel the same way about it as I do Agro.  It might work.  Maybe with a different image?
Middle Finger:  SC Midnight Blue_This one actually stamped pretty well.  It's just not as dark as I had hoped.
Ring Finger:  Confetti Rock the Night Away_This is such a great one coater.  I had high hopes for this one.  As you can see, it does not work at all :(
Pinky:  Zoya Noel_I remember this one being so awesome when I first used it.  High hopes for this one too.  Failed, again :(

Of these 5, I would say that Agro and Midnight Blue stamped the best.  Revvvolution might work out, but I think it will take some trial and error with that one.

Will be on the look out for more great stamping polishes :)

Teal Tuesday: Glitter Freestyle

It's Tuesday which means I am showing you a Teal Mani. This weeks theme is Glitter Freestyle. I Don't have a ton of glitters that go with teal or even a teal glitter. I have been wanting to try a glitter gradient and thought this would be a good time to try it out.

It didn't come out exactly how I planned.  I think because this type of gradient looks really good on either a dark base coat or a bare nail.  Either way, I gave it a try, it didn't turn out too bad :)

Base Coat:  Seche Rebuild
Base Color:  Sally Hansen Insta Dri Mint Sprint
Glitters:  Pure Ice Oh Baby, China Glaze Fairy Dust & Color Club Starry Temptress
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

EDIT:  I had this post ready to go last night.  When I woke up this morning, I just wasn't too happy with my nails.  So I decided to add more glitter and some stamping :)  I like it much better now and can wear this mani for a few days now.

Stamping Plate: Shany SH20
Stamping Polish:  Konad Special Black
