OPI: I Theodora You Dotticure

Easter is this weekend people!  I have big plans with the family so I am popping in to share my cute Easter inspired dotticure.  I have been wanting to do one for a while, but when I am in a slump, it never enters my head.  I need to start keeping a list of techniques I wanna try.  Anywho, I also picked up OPI I Theodora You  (from the Oz the Great and Powerful Collection) when I went to Ulta this week.  It's a cute light pink jelly.  I will def have to use this one for a jelly sammie.  I did 2 coats and of course you can still see some of my nail underneath, but that is kind of to be expected.  I grabbed China Glaze For Audrey and Happy Go Lucky for my dots.  Kind of the only options I had, I don't have a lot of pastels.  So I gotta work with what I got ;)  Here is how it turned out.  Pretty good I think.  I have seen better, but for a first try, I am happy with it.

Teal Tuesday: Dots

Tuesday is upon us again :)  This weeks theme for Teal Tuesday is Dots.  I have been wanting to try design that I saw on Pinterest.  It didn't go exactly as planned, but I think it still came out cute.  I finally got to use a color shifting top coat that I had purchased from a friend who has her own Indie Line, you can check her out HERE  This particular one is called Electric Eel, it looked more turquoise in the bottle.  After I layered it over black, it was more green.  That was ok though, it looks really pretty out in the sun :)  Since the top coat was more green than I thought, I had to use some teal dots, so I went with my Kleancolor Metallics, Aqua, Fuschia and Yellow.  Grabbed my dotting tools and got to dotting LOL
What do you think?

I had fun wearing this mani for a few days.  Even got a few compliments :)

Monday Challenge: Polka Dots

I have missed a Monday or two, but I am back this week with a new challenge.  This week we are doing Polka Dots.  Yet another mani I have not tried.  I wanted to do some thing a little different than just putting some dots on a plain base.  I also wanted to step away from the Spring colors and get back to some of my favs.  I have this wonderful blue called Blue Year's Eve from China Glaze.  I decided to pair it with some silver.  I used SH Extreme Wear in Celeb City.   It's a great one coater.  Not real good for stamping though :(
I applied 3 coats of Blue Years Eve, wish it was a one coater too, but it's not.  I did a coat of SV and then taped off my nails diagonally and painted the lower half silver.  I added my dots along the tape line in opposite colors then filled in with smaller dots and topped with a coat of SV.  This would have looked better if my blue was a once coater like the silver.  The thickness would have been more uniform.  All in all, I say not bad for my first try.  Thoughts?

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that I did not create this design.  I saw it some where and couldn't remember where.  But thanks to Nicole, now I know :)  You can see the original design over at Nail Polish Wars.  Thanks Nicole for bringing this to my attention and thanks for the great design :)
