Essence: Glamorous Life

Today is just a simple and cute mani.  I have for you Essence Glamorous Life.  I got this pretty from a swap I did with a friend in the Netherlands.  I love this pink!  I don't usually go for pinks, but I had to have this one.  I used this as my base for my Mother's Day Leopard Mani, you can see it HERE.  I have to cherish these little ones, the bottles are only .16floz.  I will continue to hunt these little cuties down!

This is 2 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.  What do you think?

Have you noticed that the pictures here have changed a bit?  I found a new editing site called PicMonkey.  I am having so much fun making these fun and cute collages.  Expect to see more :)

Lazy Days of Summer: Beach Theme

The April Showers Bring May Flowers challenge has morphed into a summer challenge called Lazy Days of Summer.  Here are the challenges

This is going to be interesting.  I have no idea what to do for most of these!  I did my beach themed mani.  Although it isn't like there is a beach on my nails, I love how this turned out.  I wanted to do some thing from the beach.  I wish mermaids were at the beach, so that is what I decided to do.  I got the idea from a fish mani is saw from Soguesswhat11.  I love her stuff!!  I didint' have a light blue, so I went with turquoise and dubbed this a mermaid mani.  What do you think?

Orly Nail Rescue: Repair Missing Chunk of Nail

I have seen lots of posts about Orly Nail Rescue, it's a great thing.  But I didn't want to post about how easy it was to fix a tear.  It's already all over the internet.  So when I had a chunk of my nail go missing (mishap with the kids) I was stumped how I was going to fix it.  I didn't want to have to cut them all down.  I had finally gotten them nice and strong and at a good length.  So I was brainstorming with a few buddies in PAA and then I decided, since I wasn't going to make it to Sally's for a proper solution, I would do with what I already had.  There is a technique for using tea bags to repair tears, I have done it.  I don't love it.  Which is why I have the Nail Rescue.  Sooooo, with a chunk missing, what was I going to do?  No acrylic powder, resin or wraps to speak of.  I decided I would combine the 2 techniques.  I cut a small piece of tea bag and using the Orly brush on glue, I glued it to my nail, covering the gap. Then I applied another layer of glue and dipped in the Nail Rescue Powder.  Then I filed the top of my nail a bit and then glued and dipped again.  I wanted to make sure I got a nice coating.  I filed my nail some more, made sure you couldn't see any raised edges and then added a coat of Rejuvacote (my new favorite treatment) and done!  Here is the before and after

I don't know how often a break like this happens, first time for me, but there is a simple way to temporarily fix it :)

I did this repair on my nails 5 days ago, still holding strong!

Teal Tuesday: Dots

Tuesday is upon us again :)  This weeks theme for Teal Tuesday is Dots.  I have been wanting to try design that I saw on Pinterest.  It didn't go exactly as planned, but I think it still came out cute.  I finally got to use a color shifting top coat that I had purchased from a friend who has her own Indie Line, you can check her out HERE  This particular one is called Electric Eel, it looked more turquoise in the bottle.  After I layered it over black, it was more green.  That was ok though, it looks really pretty out in the sun :)  Since the top coat was more green than I thought, I had to use some teal dots, so I went with my Kleancolor Metallics, Aqua, Fuschia and Yellow.  Grabbed my dotting tools and got to dotting LOL
What do you think?

I had fun wearing this mani for a few days.  Even got a few compliments :)

Free Polish!

Are you a member of Copious?  Well, you should be!  It's kind of like eBay and Pinterest rolled into one.  They have all sorts of things available for purchase, even polish :)  I have seen Zoya, OPI, Kleancolor, Nicole by OPI and a few other brands available.  I read that a gal got a Layla Holo.....that is a 15.00 polish!!  You can click HERE to sign up and get a free 10.00 credit.  I have done this twice now and so far I have received Zoya Chloe and have OPI 'Nothin Mousie 'Bout It on it's way to me right now.  2 Pretties for free.....can't beat that.  Just sign up, search for the brand you are looking for and purchase with your credits.  Make sure to do it quickly, these credits usually expire 2 days after you get them.  So don't dilly dally!  Oh real quick, shipping is included towards the amount you can use your credits on and Copious requires you to spend .01 on a purchase.  So really, it's a polish for a penny.  But seriously, it's basically free.  ENJOY!!!

Teal Tuesday: Feathers

Afternoon lovelies!  When I logged in today, I saw that I now have 160 followers, YAY!!  I am so excited to have you all with me :)
This weeks Teal Challenge is feathers.  I have to admit, I was not in the mood to do my nails these last few days.  I had on a gorgeous glitter that was wearing very well.  I just didn't want to go through all the effort to remove it.  I am just one tired mama!  But, I decided it was time to change my mani.  I had an idea all planned out.  A pretty teal holo and some gold stamping.  Complete FAIL!  The holo didn't want to dry :(  Then the furniture guy showed up and I had to unlock the gate, we have a pad lock.  Two nails ruined right there.  So I decided to start over and go simpler.  I did just one coat of CG Adore and stamped with a feather image using Konad Special Black.  It's simple, but cute.  I like it :)  You?

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  China Glaze Adore (1 coat)
Stamping Plate:  Bundle Monster BM214
Stamping Polish:  Konad Special Black
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

So I started using a new treatment called Rejuvacote.  So far I love it.  You apply as your base coat and add a top coat each day.  It's nice and thick and shiny.  So I thought I would try to use it as a top coat over stamping.  No go :(  You can see that the image on my pinky is smeared.  I will be sticking with my Seche Vite for stamping mani's.  But, tomorrow, I will be adding my Rejuvacote on top :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

OPI DS Perfection

I have been absent far too long.  I apologize.  Been super busy around here.  We had some new furniture delivered and basically moved everything out and moved all the new stuff in.  I have been putting stuff away, cleaning, re-organizing, donating and tossing stuff out.  I am proud to say that I am done!  I have a new living room and bedroom.  I am so excited!!
I have such a pretty pink to share with you today.  It's OPI DS Perfection.  It's got a little bit of a gold shimmer.  You can really see it in the bottle, not so much on the nail.  But I still love it.  It's soooo pretty!!

Adventures in Stamping: Beth's Birthday

I haven't participated in  stamping challenge for a while.  I am as slacker :(  But, seeing as how it is Beth's Birthday (daughter of the AIS founder) I decided I needed to do a cute birthday mani.  I didn't have a lot of time so I went with cute and simple.  Plus, I got to try out a new polish.  I am loving this holo pink, and I don't usually go for pinks.  Aaaaaannnnnnd, I got to use my new MASH plates!  Fun Fun Fun.....Hope you like what I came up with: pink, holo-y and girly :)

Essence: Blue Addicted

Happy Saturday everyone.  I hope you are looking at your computers today, I have an awesome polish to share with you.  I did a swap a while ago with a gal from the Netherlands.  I sent her stuff, she sent me stuff.....in my package was this little blue bottle with blue and green glitters.  SO PRETTY!  I have been wanting Deborah Lippman's Across the Universe and this is a dupe :)  At a much better price I might add.  I put this baby on as soon as I got it!!  I love this, I am going to have to get 1 or 2 more bottles, they are pretty small and I don't see myself ever not liking this one.
