Pretty & Polished S'no Mans Land

It's official, the Pretty & Polished Holiday Collection went on sale this morning.  I really wanted to do this post this morning, but my hubby had the day off and I really needed him to help me do some cleaning and re-organizing in our room.  It took much longer than expected, but I am quit happy now :)

As you know, I got some of the P&P Holiday Collection a bit early.  Today I am going to share with you S'no Mans Land.  It's a lovely white iridescent polish with some rainbow micro glitters and some large and small white hex glitters.  Here is the best bottle shot I could get:

When I ordered this one, I chose a mini cause I had no idea how pretty it was in the bottle.  I now wish I had ordered a full size.
My original plan was to layer this over a dark blue and after testing it on a piece of paper, I changed my mind.  It was pretty, but it wasn't what I was looking.  So I decided to use it alone.  I am glad I did.  This one is a nice soft shimmery white polish.  It's perfect for a soft touch or even to wear to a wedding. If you aren't into bright colors, this is a great soft look with a little glitter.  Which you know I love!

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Polish:   Pretty & Polished S'no Mans Land (2 coats)
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

I had a hard time photographing this one on my nails.  This is one of those polishes that is so much prettier in person than in a photo.  I am wearing it right now and still loving it.

Have you purchased any of the P&P Holiday Collection?  I sure hope so!!

Happy Friday and hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend <3

Pretty & Polished Happy Holodays Duo

Pretty & Polished has a Holiday collection coming out this Friday the 9th.  I was fortunate to be able to purchase some in a pre sale to review.  So I have for you today the Happy Holodays Duo, which consists of a ruby red holo appropriately named Ruby, and a red and green glitter simply known as Glitter Topper.  Easy right?  I had to pick up this duo when I saw it.  It's right up my alley and has the things I love the most.  Red and Glitter!!
Let's get started.  Ruby is meant to be the base color, it's an awesome ruby red.  It went on smooth and was opaque in 2 coats.  As I was putting this one I was falling in love, I LOVE this red holo.  It's not super holo like the new Color Clubs or the Brazilian Jades, but it has just the right amount to make me happy :)
Here is Ruby alone:

Next up is the Glitter Topper.  This one is soooo pretty in the bottle.  It consists of red and green hex & micro glitters in a clear base.  It's jam packed!  I did 2 coats over Ruby as was very pleased.  This topper is not sticky at all and spreads nicely.  When I was done I looked at all my nails and I just have to say that I am so glad I picked up this duo.  I have a business Christmas Dinner to go to next month and this is the combo I will be wearing.  I am loving this!
Here is Ruby with Glitter Topper:

Isn't it just awesome?!?!  Well, I think it is.  Of course this is much more sparkly in person.  Seems no camera can capture all the sparkles of wonderful glitter polishes.

If you are looking for something fun and glittery for the holidays, this is a great duo.  The glitter topper will look good over a black or gold polish as well.  I will have to give that a try.  Lots of fun to be had with these :)

If you already have some Pretty & Polished polishes, then you know the polish is great and the customer service rocks!

Just had to share one more pic LOL

Happy Thursday!!

Essie Power Clutch & Essence Julia

I wanna start off with thanking all of you who have joined me on my polish journey.  When I logged in this morning, I saw that I am up to 299 followers, thanks everyone!

It's also post election day.  I am not gonna get political or anything, but whether your candidate won or lost, glitter is bound to make you smile!

I was able to snag Essence Julia from a blog sale.  It's part of a "twin" set.  But I don't have her twin Romeo, which is a light grey.  I recently got a lovely grey in my Birchbox, Essie Power Clutch.  A full size I might add!  Any who, I immediately thought of my Julia when I opened the box.

I am going to give my opinion of both of these polishes as this is the first time I have used either :)

Essie Power Clutch:  This one is a lovely grey, it's pretty opaque in one coat, but I suggest 2.  It went on really smooth.  I really love the formula of this one

Essence Julia:  She is an awesome holo glitter in a clear base.  There are mico glitters as well as square glitters.  I have to say, I LOVE this glitter polish.  It sparkles no  matter where you  are.  It's constantly showing off it's rainbow glittery awesomeness.  Whether it's a sunny day, gloomy day or you are stuck in doors, this one sparkles everywhere!  One coat is good coverage, at least for me, but you can def do more and get lots more bling :)

Here are the 2 layered together:

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Essie Power Clutch
Glitter:  Essence Julia
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

This pic was taken outside in the shade.  You can see how much it sparkles in the bottle and on my nails.  If you love glitter polish as much as I do and you come across some one wanting to get rid of this one, GRAB IT!

Pretty & Polished: Rat-a-tat

Happy Halloween!  Pretty much every nail blog is show casing a cool Halloween mani.  I just wasn't really into Halloween this year so I didn't do one.  I have been sporting fun black and glittery nails which is fun for me.  My nails are still pretty short so I like the dark vampy look.  Which is actually great for Halloween :)
Today I wanna share with you a polish from the Indy brand Pretty & Polished.  Chelsea makes some great polishes and I am fortunate to own a few.
Today I have Rat-a-tat.  I love this glitter polish.  It's a clear base packed with teal and black hex glitters, bar glitters and micro glitters.  You might know that I am a huge fan of glitter polish, this one does not disappoint.  I did 2 layers over a black base.

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (1 layer)
Glitter:  Pretty & Polished Rat-a-tat
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

What do you think of Indy brands?  Have any, want any?

Catrice Million Styles Special Effects Top Coat: Million Dollar Baby

I have a bad habit of buying things and then stashing them some where until I can figure out where I want to put them permanently.  This is the case with the Million Styles Special Effect Top Coat collection from Catrice.  A friend of mine from the Netherlands had the entire set for sale and I just could not pass it up.  It's a Limited Edition Set so I was excited to have the opportunity to get it.
The other day I was going through some stuff and found my collection in a fabric box in a plastic bag, along with some other stuff I had gotten from a blog sale.  It was like Christmas LOL  I promptly added everything to my stash list and as I was going through them, I tested a few of the top coats and LOVED Million Dollar Baby.  Which is weird, because I am not a huge fan of gold.  I took the time to do my nails that evening and I am LOVING this gold glitter top coat.  It consists of large and small hex glitters and covers pretty well in one coat.  I layered it over black, but this will look awesome over red, purple and blue.  Probably lots of other colors, but those stand out right now in my brain.  Here is what it looks like:

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (1 coat)
Glitter:  Catrice Million Dollar Baby (1 coat)
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I have to say, I was impressed with the shine after applying this top coat.  The only reason I added a coat of Seche Vite is so help it dry faster.  I had some laundry I needed to do and surely didn't want to ruin my mani.  One coat gave great coverage and was perfect for what I was looking for.  Another coat would have made this super blingy and awesome.  I may give it a try ;)
I also took this photo in the shade.  This looks so much better in doors or in the shade than in direct sun light.  Which makes it an awesome glitter to wear in the winter when you still want all that glittery fun on your nails.
If you have this polish, don't let it sit on a shelf or in a bin.  It's beautiful!!

Guest Blogger Friday: Lace & Lacquers: Halloween Inspired Saran Wrap Nail Art

Sooooo, I had put Guest Blogger Friday on hold because I was doing a Halloween nail art challenge that posted every Friday, Weeelllll, you can see how well that turned out.  I am such a slacker :(
Lacey graciously agreed to guest post for me.  She went with a Halloween theme since it's October.  I thought I better share before Halloween passes us by.  ENJOY!!!

Hey guys! It's Lacey from Lace & Lacquers! I was asked a few months ago by Mandy to do a guest post for her in October, how nice of her to think of me! I figured since it is October, a good old fashion Halloween manicure was perfect for this post :]

Here's what we'll be creating today:

One fun, Halloween looking manicure and for those who like gore - I got a manicure for you, too! After the jump I'll show you more pictures, tools I used and a short tutorial how to recreate this look.

Hard Candy Cosmetics

I have been thinking for a while that I love more than just nail polish.  When I started my blog, I thought I was going to be painting my nails ALL THE TIME and would have plenty of mani's to share with you.  Turns out, sometimes, you just don't feel like doing your nails.  Who knew?  Then I feel bad that I haven't posted on here for a while.
I have decided that I also want to share other things I love.  Like makeup and such.  I hope that is ok with you guys.  I know this started as a nail blog and the name kind of says it all.  But I am not just about nail polish.
So today I want to share with you a brand that I thought only made nail polish.  Hard Candy.  Turns out, they have cosmetics too.  Even a clothing line :)  I love watching make up tutorials on YouTube and when I heard of a full coverage concealer that was pretty cheap, I had to do some more digging around.  I read lots of reviews and looked at lots of YouTube videos.  I figured, I MUST try the Hard Candy Glamoflauge.  In the search for reviews on this concealer I came across a few other products I wanted to give a try.  I headed to Wal Mart (with my children, bad idea) yesterday and picked up a few items.  I love the packaging and the prices are pretty good too.  Here is what I got:

Glamoflauge Concealer in Medium Light $6.00
Welcome Matte mattifying powder $8.00
Lash Tinsel in Spellbound $6.00
Plumping Serum in Nude Beach $6.00

As I was walking down the aisle past the NYC section, a pretty glitter polish caught my eye. It's called Big City Dazzle.  I thought it was a full on glitter polish.  When I was taking this pic, I realized it was just a top coat.  Oh well.  It's still pretty

So there you have it.  My first Hard Candy haul.  I haven't tried any of these products, but I will def keep you posted on my thoughts.

Do you already use Hard Candy?  Love 'em or hate 'em?
