Let it Snow!: Snowflakes

Hey everyone, happy Friday!!  It's time to get back to some challenge mani's.  You probably remember I did the Spring and Summer challenges.  I started the Autumn challenge, but things were hectic around here and I dropped out :(  Now it's time for the Winter Challenge!!  Our group has named it the "Let it Snow!" Challenge.  Here is what we are going to be doing

Alrighty, here we go.  First challenge is snowflakes.  Who doesn't love snowflakes?!?!  I am really happy with how my mani turned out.  Blue, sparkly and of course full of snowflakes.
See......

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  China Glaze Dorothy Who? (2 coats, no underwear)

Nail Art Contest: Stamping Skills

The weekend is over, Thanksgiving is now behind us.  But there is still a ton of food in my fridge.  We will be eating Thanksgiving dinner for a week, LOL.  But now that the long week of no school is over, I can get back to some regular posting.  At least I hope so.  Before we left for the weekend I saw a nail art contest I wanted to enter.  It is based on stamping so it's right up my alley :)  I have wanted to do a few in the past, but never found the time to create the nail art and enter.
I did a design a while back and although I wished it had turned out a little a better, I get compliments on that design a lot.  It was even picked out of my older photos by a fellow blogger as one of her favorites to share on her FB page.  So I decided it was time to re-do this one and make it a little better.
Here is the old design:

I didn't change much, just did added the glitter before stamping and added some fun rhinestones on my accent nail.  Here is the new one:

I think a couple slight improvements made a big difference.  I even like the length and shape of my nails better now than when I first started blogging back in March, which is when I originally did this mani.

Products used:
Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Glitter:  China Glaze Fairy Dust
Stamping Plate:  Konad M57
Stamping Polish:  Konad Special Black

There are lots of great entries in this contest, wish me luck!
The deadline to enter is today, but if you are interested, go HERE

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and aren't too bummed to go back to work today, if you indeed did go back to work today LOL

Pretty & Polished: Tart

Getting ready for Thanksgiving?  We have been trying to get ready to go camping all weekend.  Didn't get as much done as we had hoped, but things are moving along ok.  My boys are so excited to go out to the desert.  They can't wait to get on their quads and go!  I on the other hand, am excited about deep fried turkey, that's how we do it in the desert :)  DELICIOUS!
Prob should get on the topic of polish, huh?  I was on FB the other day when a girl asked if any one liked the milky based polishes full of glitter.  I couldn't give her an honest answer cause I haven't tried one.  I know I am not a fan of the white bases stuffed with glitter, but I had a purple base on my rack I hadn't tried.  Enter P&P Tart!  This is one of those polishes I took a chance on when I ordered it.  I am glad I did.  I love this polish!!

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Polish:  Pretty & Polished Tart (3 coats)
Top Coat Seche Vite

This covered pretty well in 2 coats, I added a third coat to get some more glitter, you know I love glitter!  I topped with Seche Vite and loved how smooth my nails were.  The wear on this polish is great too.  I have had this on for almost 3 days and no sign of chipping.  No tip wear either.  Which is weird, cause usually after I take a shower, my tips are bare.  But not with this polish.
This particular color reminds me of Easter, and so I will be bringing this baby back out in Spring :)

Hope you are enjoying your Monday, I know I am!

Blog Sale!!!

Hey everyone, it's blog sale time!!!  I have a bunch of HTF/VHTF polishes I was lucky to be able to get.  I also have discovered that I have a lot of dupes.  When I first started collecting polish, I bought what ever I thought was pretty.  Then started realizing that I had polishes very similar already at home.  Which means, you can get my brand new or like new polishes at a discount, YAY!!

I am looking to sell these polishes to help with Christmas, I have 3 kids and this is currently what I can do to get some money.

I prefer to ship with in the US.  Shipping for the first bottle is 2.50 and .50 for each additional bottle.  Unless you purchase more than 6 bottles, I will ship in a flat rate box.  I can fit between 8 and 11 polishes depending on size.

If you are international, please contact me via e mail at miss.mandy25@gmail.com to inquire about shipping prices.

Happy Shopping.  Hope you see something you like :)

Thanks!!!

OPI Excuse Moi

Last weekend was my niece's 4th birthday.  She is such a cute and a giant ham.  The family got together to hang out, have cake and ice and of course, give presents to the birthday girl.  I get to make my niece's birthday cakes/cupcakes/cake balls every year.  So much fun!!

This year my niece was having a princess party.  She chose Belle as her cake and so I got to make a Belle doll cake. My first ever, exciting!  Plus it game me an excuse to buy a new pan :)

After getting the cake baked and decorated, I had to decide what I was going to wear on my nails.  Back in July, I did an Ariel cake for for my other niece and went with cupcake nails to match.  You can see that post HERE  Anywho, I was going to go with cupcake nails again and then decided some glittery nails would be more fun.  Enter OPI Excuse Moi from the Muppets Collection.

This is such a great polish.  I was really surprised with how jam packed the glitters are.  One coat was almost opaque!!  After 2 coats, I was in love.  I don't do a lot of pinks, but this is such a great glittery sparkly pink.  I am still wearing it today, 4 days later!!

Here are my birthday nails:

 Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  OPI Excuse Moi
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

And just because I mentioned it was my nieces birthday, I am going to share a pic of the cake I made :)

The week is almost over and I am preparing for a blog sale.  I have lots of good stuff up for grabs.  Be sure to keep your eyes open, until then, HAPPY THURSDAY!!!

Pretty & Polished: Love Always, Candy Cain

I feel like it's been a while since I posted.  I don't usually post on the weekends, it seems every one is out and don't really take the time to check in on the blogs they follow.  Which is fine, I am totally guilty of that!  It was a 3 day weekend so I guess it has been a while LOL

Today I am sharing the last of my P&P Holiday Collection polishes, Love Always, Candy Cain.  This one is gorgeous in the bottle and lovely on the nail.  It's a clear base jammed with red & white hearts, hex and micro glitters.  I decided to layer over black for a fun darker look.  My only complaint about this one is the white glitters all seem to hang out at the bottom of the bottle, even after shaking it up just before applying.  But that's ok, I have a few polishes I have to go fishing in.  It really isn't a big deal for me.

Here is how my mani turned out:

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (1 coat)
Glitter:  P&P Love Always, Candy Cain (2 coats)
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

A nice bonus to this polish is that it will also be great for Valentine's Day.  Layer over white or pink and voila, V-Day mani!

Happy Tuesday!!

Pretty & Polished S'no Mans Land

It's official, the Pretty & Polished Holiday Collection went on sale this morning.  I really wanted to do this post this morning, but my hubby had the day off and I really needed him to help me do some cleaning and re-organizing in our room.  It took much longer than expected, but I am quit happy now :)

As you know, I got some of the P&P Holiday Collection a bit early.  Today I am going to share with you S'no Mans Land.  It's a lovely white iridescent polish with some rainbow micro glitters and some large and small white hex glitters.  Here is the best bottle shot I could get:

When I ordered this one, I chose a mini cause I had no idea how pretty it was in the bottle.  I now wish I had ordered a full size.
My original plan was to layer this over a dark blue and after testing it on a piece of paper, I changed my mind.  It was pretty, but it wasn't what I was looking.  So I decided to use it alone.  I am glad I did.  This one is a nice soft shimmery white polish.  It's perfect for a soft touch or even to wear to a wedding. If you aren't into bright colors, this is a great soft look with a little glitter.  Which you know I love!

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Polish:   Pretty & Polished S'no Mans Land (2 coats)
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

I had a hard time photographing this one on my nails.  This is one of those polishes that is so much prettier in person than in a photo.  I am wearing it right now and still loving it.

Have you purchased any of the P&P Holiday Collection?  I sure hope so!!

Happy Friday and hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend <3

Pretty & Polished Happy Holodays Duo

Pretty & Polished has a Holiday collection coming out this Friday the 9th.  I was fortunate to be able to purchase some in a pre sale to review.  So I have for you today the Happy Holodays Duo, which consists of a ruby red holo appropriately named Ruby, and a red and green glitter simply known as Glitter Topper.  Easy right?  I had to pick up this duo when I saw it.  It's right up my alley and has the things I love the most.  Red and Glitter!!
Let's get started.  Ruby is meant to be the base color, it's an awesome ruby red.  It went on smooth and was opaque in 2 coats.  As I was putting this one I was falling in love, I LOVE this red holo.  It's not super holo like the new Color Clubs or the Brazilian Jades, but it has just the right amount to make me happy :)
Here is Ruby alone:

Next up is the Glitter Topper.  This one is soooo pretty in the bottle.  It consists of red and green hex & micro glitters in a clear base.  It's jam packed!  I did 2 coats over Ruby as was very pleased.  This topper is not sticky at all and spreads nicely.  When I was done I looked at all my nails and I just have to say that I am so glad I picked up this duo.  I have a business Christmas Dinner to go to next month and this is the combo I will be wearing.  I am loving this!
Here is Ruby with Glitter Topper:

Isn't it just awesome?!?!  Well, I think it is.  Of course this is much more sparkly in person.  Seems no camera can capture all the sparkles of wonderful glitter polishes.

If you are looking for something fun and glittery for the holidays, this is a great duo.  The glitter topper will look good over a black or gold polish as well.  I will have to give that a try.  Lots of fun to be had with these :)

If you already have some Pretty & Polished polishes, then you know the polish is great and the customer service rocks!

Just had to share one more pic LOL

Happy Thursday!!

Essie Power Clutch & Essence Julia

I wanna start off with thanking all of you who have joined me on my polish journey.  When I logged in this morning, I saw that I am up to 299 followers, thanks everyone!

It's also post election day.  I am not gonna get political or anything, but whether your candidate won or lost, glitter is bound to make you smile!

I was able to snag Essence Julia from a blog sale.  It's part of a "twin" set.  But I don't have her twin Romeo, which is a light grey.  I recently got a lovely grey in my Birchbox, Essie Power Clutch.  A full size I might add!  Any who, I immediately thought of my Julia when I opened the box.

I am going to give my opinion of both of these polishes as this is the first time I have used either :)

Essie Power Clutch:  This one is a lovely grey, it's pretty opaque in one coat, but I suggest 2.  It went on really smooth.  I really love the formula of this one

Essence Julia:  She is an awesome holo glitter in a clear base.  There are mico glitters as well as square glitters.  I have to say, I LOVE this glitter polish.  It sparkles no  matter where you  are.  It's constantly showing off it's rainbow glittery awesomeness.  Whether it's a sunny day, gloomy day or you are stuck in doors, this one sparkles everywhere!  One coat is good coverage, at least for me, but you can def do more and get lots more bling :)

Here are the 2 layered together:

Base Coat:  Rejuvacote
Base Color:  Essie Power Clutch
Glitter:  Essence Julia
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

This pic was taken outside in the shade.  You can see how much it sparkles in the bottle and on my nails.  If you love glitter polish as much as I do and you come across some one wanting to get rid of this one, GRAB IT!
