OPI: Alpine Snow

Prior to really getting in nail polish, I had some fun with just painting my nails and using a dotting tool to make cute little flowers.  Since I didn't want to spend a lot of money on polish, I picked up a black and a white L.A. Colors from my Dollar Tree.  Couldn't hurt to try, right?  Well, the black is fine, the white?  It totally sucked!  LOL  Sooooo, I am on a quest for a great white polish.
During my last trip to Ulta I picked up a pack of OPI Minis.  Too Cute not to get.  Inside are a few colors I wanted to try, including Alpine Snow.  Today is testing day :)
At first I wasn't too happy with it....very streaky.  So I decided to do thicker coats.  Even in doing that I still had some bald spots and needed to do a 3rd coat.  Seems like a lot.  Maybe not?  I don't have a lot of experience with whites.  Here is what it looks like:

Base Coat:  Seche Rebuild
Base Color:  OPI Alpine Snow (3 coats)
Top Coat:  Seche Vite

Thoughts?  Advice?  Suggestions?  Comment and let me know your favorite white.  It might end up being my favorite white too :)

Thanks for looking and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

  1. I am usually not a fan of whites by themselves unless they have a shimmer to it lol. I like anything shimmery and glittery

  2. I like Whirlwind White, I used it for this week's stamping challenge and it wasn't streaky for me at all. The brush is a PAIN to work with, but it's a great white! I like it, I hear it stamps well too, so we'll see! I like that OPI white, but I don't own any OPI's, no where here sells it.

    1. Yeah, I have a few of the Insta Dri's and the brush is weird. But, it is workable. Might have to pick one up when SH goes on sale again. Glad I only got a mini bottle of the Alpine White. That would have been a waste of 8.00 if I got the full bottle LOL

  3. I usually don't really like whites for the very reasons you mention: they're streaky and take a lot of coats. My go-to white is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Lavender Cloud. It has just the BAREST tint to it in the bottle, but it looks white once you get it on. The brush is a dream for application, and I get full coverage in two coats. Might be worth checking out if you're looking to expand your white collection.
